The Topper Family.
Topper Industrial is the leading manufacturer of custom-built industrial material handling carts and equipment in North America.
Topper is family owned with more than twenty years of experience creating lean material handling solutions for the supply chain. Topper was incorporated in 1994 by Ed Brown. The company was initially created to be a custom metal fabrication and weld shop. By 1998, with Ed’s engineering background and creative nature, Topper was well on its way to becoming one of the world’s best industrial cart manufacturer. Today, it has grown to design and manufacture all the equipment needed to move material and deliver line side. Topper Industrial’s reputation is built on honest, hardworking and reliable workmanship.
Ed Brown holds various patents on material handling delivery carts and like components and many more patent pending products. Ed and his wife, Jan have five children. Each of those children work at Topper today. Ed and Jan taught their children a great work ethic. They were taught to “find the work you love and most importantly, have fun doing it.” With a great admiration for their parents’ hard work and determination, each child brought a unique talent and knowledge to the company.
In 2010, Ryan, Ed and Jan’s eldest son took position as President of Topper Industrial. Ryan, heading the next generation of Topper Industrial with his siblings in key roles within the company. Cynthia Placencia, the eldest daughter is the CFO. Eric Brown, the youngest son is Vice-President of Research and Development. Jillian Burrow, is the Marketing Manager and Jenna Brown, the youngest daughter is the Safety Manager. Each contribute in helping the company create new innovative solutions to material handling needs for the next generations to come. Ed Brown oversees as CEO and Head of Research and Development currently, while the rest of the family and nearly 100 employees maintain the best quality and family culture.
