Company Origins and Growth

Topper is family-owned, with more than twenty-five years of experience creating material handling cart and equipment solutions for the supply chain. The company was incorporated in 1994 by Ed Brown. Originally established as a custom metal fabrication and weld shop, Topper quickly evolved. By 1998, with Ed’s engineering background and creative approach, the company was already on its way to becoming one of the world’s top industrial cart manufacturers.

Today, Topper designs and manufactures everything needed to move materials and deliver them line side. The company’s reputation is built on honest, hardworking, and reliable workmanship.

Innovation and Patents

Ed Brown holds multiple patents for material handling delivery carts and related components, with many more innovations currently patent pending. His vision continues to shape the company’s product development and leadership.

A Family-Run Business

Ed and his wife Jan raised their five children with strong work ethics, encouraging them to “find the work you love and most importantly, have fun doing it.” Each of their children now holds a key role at Topper:
